Property Description

Boston’s Jamaica Plain was originally settled in the early 1600s as a part of the Roxbury neighborhood. The town did not receive its namesake as an independent town until the late 1800s. Jamaica Plain was known for its green spaces and bodies of water including ponds, brooks and marshes. Their Community farms became a popular place for much of the Boston population to purchase local crops. There was plenty of land for people to settle and build new houses. By the late 1800s, Jamaica Plain was filled less with farmers and more with professionals who wanted a suburb of Boston to call home. Over time the growth of the neighborhood continued and helped form a great community that holds a unique charm.
